Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Youtube, Snapchat, etc.; all these apps have one thing in common, they all use some form of social engineering techniques to trick users into being unconsciously dependent on them, leading to unproductivity or even worse unproductivity in the workplace. Project peacock will attempt to solve unproductivity and unproductivity in the workplace, by incorporating the same social engineering techniques that big social media applications use into an Issue Tracking Software.

It all started back in 2016, it was observed that as the functionality of an application increases the UI/UX design decreases. The idea was to design a fully functional application that didn't compromise on design, but unfortunately, this idea was too broad in scope and the idea was put on hold until it could be less broad Sometime arround September of 2018, when I was finishing up my work term, my mentor said something that changed everything. The company I was at was rolling out Facebook Workplace and was trying to get employees to register and use it, one of the concerns brought up by my mentor was that he had to choose between finishing his work and using Facebook Workplace. When he said that a light bulb went off in my head, "Why should you have to choose between doing your work and using social media?" I thought to myself... And with that Project Peacock was born. Project Peacock is a combination of the 2016 idea of a functional application with an elegant design, combined with an application that allows you to do your work while still being able to participate in social media. Looking back now it's amazing to see how far the idea has come

  • Complete work while still participating in social media
  • Share project updates and announcements
  • Like and or watch/subscribe to what interests you
  • Personalized notifications based on the users' subscriptions
  • Save and share useful queries to the team to increase productivity
  • Upvote or Downvote queries based on their usefulness
  • Intuitive, modern, familiar UI/UX design
  • A RESTful API that allows for limitless expansion
