Our project is a tower defence game which tries to combine elements of real time strategy and rogue-like games. The goal of the game is to survive as long as possible by defeating wave upon waves of progressively more difficult enemies. The game is being developed with the Unity Game Engine. Our source control is git, with GitHub hosting the project, and SourceTree being our graphical user interface for push/pulls/commits. Currently the project can generate a random maze each time it is played, enemies can traverse the maze automatically and can adjust their path depending on whether a better path opens up. Turrets can be placed and moved on demand. Some work is still required on adjusting difficulty and changing with each wave.

We wanted to take a traditional tower defence game and add some spice to it. By creating a random maze and giving the player the ability to adjust tower placements, we hoped it would create an experience similar to that of real time strategy where fast paced decision making is key. Rather than focusing on figuring out an optimized placement strategy before enemies even spawned. We are well on our way to accomplishing this goal, with mostly small touch-ups required before moving into the Beta phase.

  • Adaptive pathfinding
  • Ability to move turrets
  • Fun sound effects
